Fenerbahce sports club released a statemement following the attack which took place against Fenerbahce captain Emre Belezoglu and his friend and footballer Orhan Ak at the Mudanya farry boat station by Besiktas fans. The statement goes as the following...
"Today there was another treacherous attack towards Fenerbahçe among others.
Following the return from Rize a gun attack to the bus, followed by throwing stones at the Fenerbahce office branch in Ankara, then there were physical attacks towards Fenerbahce captain Emre Belozoglu.
As Emre Belozoglu was going to Bursa via Eskihisar ferry boat station for personal reasons, he was surrounded by football "terrorists" wearing Besiktas shirts and items and was surrounded, attacked and cursed by them.
By the luck our captain Emre Belozoglu was able to come out from the incident unharmed. The suspects were handed to the judicial authorities and a case was opened against them.
We want to let the community know that this treacharous attack, among others, is passing the limits of patience of the club.
The fact that the suspects of previous attacks on Fenerbahce are not caught and put under custody, raises fears of having new attacks towards Fenerbahce.
Among the people who took part in the following attack against our captain, authorities who also perpatrated and motivated those attacks should be punished. People who follow Besiktas and had shown negative images of Emre Belozoglu could be proud of what they achieved.
Fenerbahce is one of the important roots to Turkish sports and Turkish football, and the biggest civil organisation. Attacks on the club's buildings, players and staff are attacks on the entirety of Fenerbahce Sports Club.
Fenerbahce once again condemns the following attack and urges to get the preperstors into custody and instigators to be immediately caught and brought before justice. "
