According to Turkish media outlet MedyaLine, Sao Paulo offered Fenerbahce six million euros for the Brazilian playmaker who failed to make an impact this year at Fenerbahce.
The 29-year old joined Fenerbahce on a Bosman transfer from Atletico Madrid this past summer after declining a contract extension with the Spanish champions, however after ten league matches with no goals his stint is Istanbul seems to be over.
Diego started his career with Sao Paulo's rivals Santos whom he started playing for since the age of 11 between 1996 and 2002 and he has four goals in 33 matches for the Brazilian national football team.
