The 25-year old Brazilian central midfielder was pulled out of Sao Paolo's match with Ateltico Paranaense after the €8 million release clause in his contract was activated by Fenerbahçe, forcing Sao Paolo to release him.
Josef is expected to arrive in Turkey soon to undergo his medical with Fenerbahçe. He previously played for Porto, Vasco de Gama and Gremio as well as representing the Brazilian national football team three times.
São Paulo confirmed the talks by tweeting the following "Souza won't play against Ateltico as he is in talks over an €8 million move to Fenerbahçe"
