The 68-year old experienced coach has been linked with both Fenerbahçe and Besiktas in Turkey, however, after yesternight's semifinal match against Dnipro which saw Shaktar advance to final of the Ukrainian cup; Lucescu announced that he will stay with his current team.
"I have one year left on my contract and I want to honor it. All the rumors are nothing but media speculations." Lucescu said.
"We have been Ukraines best representatives in Europe for the past 10 years, all fans are tolerant towards us, as politics and football are two separate matters" he added when asked about the effect of the political tensions in Ukraine on the state of football.
