Fenerbahce captain Volkan Demirel had commented about game against Bursaspor at Turkish Cup semi-final 1st leg, draw on Eskisehirspor, rest of the season and also fans negative reaction to him during away games.
Fenerbahce captain Volkan Demirel during his interview with official Fenerbace TV channel FBTV has commented about latest developments at the club following 2:1 away win against Bursaspor at Turkish Cup semi-final 1st leg game.
Volkan has made following statement:
"We were focussed into scoreline (in this game), we played good and we won game. When you score away goal at this kind of games, you become in more advantegous situation at tie. I want to mention one more thing about this. Bursaspor has scored most amount of goals at this Turkish league season. We played 3 games and their had only scored 2 goals to us. I want to say that when we focus into the game and everyone provides best football then there is no team which we cant beat.
Going back to Eskisehir game, I wan to mention some things about it. Usually there is going back in football, but there are few things I want to say about that game. Losing two points had moved us bit backwards. This game which we just won, even through its only cup is still important win. We want to make Fenerbahce fans happy. There are 6 games ahead. There is no guarentee we would make 6 out of 6 wins, there would be mistakes on the way. But same would be for our opponents surely. We are moving ahead confidently. There is 1 point difference and ahead there are 18 points to win. We would make our best to make our best at Cup and League and make our fans happy.
Coming to the negativie chanting given to me at away games. I am used to called traitor or other things by fans. But there are also say refer to my wife and mother. Their swear like that. There were nice fans at Bursa today. I congratulate them, we should not take my comments to all the fans. But some are saying some things about my family. I am worried about their humanity and manner knowledge. I think those people didnt get right family manners. Because if their did they would not make this kind of chants. They say I am traitor. If I am traitor, then its because of my own behaviour. I came out as a national team player. Just behind my goal fans were giving me those chants, I think I had behaved in proper manner. But when opponent players boo me it gives me extra motivation. But when people are on my stadium, booing me, sorry,but I would not play. For this I want to thank Fenerbahce fans. They also gave me support and motivation. Others created calling me traitor. But when it comes to mother, father, wife and my child I start being suspecious of them being human beings. Those same people dont tell me that in streets, but ask for photos.
