Turkish international midfielder Mehmet Topal's goal stood tall as it proved to be the decisive strike in tonight's 1-0 victory for Fenerbahçe over Mersin Idman Yurdu.
Topal opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a clean finish in the bottom corner of Mihaylov's goal; thanks to a good run from Alper Potuk who delivered the ball to Moussa Sow who eventually assisted Topal.
Meanwhile Brazilian playmaker Diego Ribas failed to impress again as he missed a penalty in the 82nd minute.
Fenerbahçe are now first in the league with 33 points, one point ahead of Besiktas (32) who still have a match in hand and Galatasaray (32) who tied with Genclerbirligi 1-1 last night. You can view the full league standings here.
