Kuyt scores for Fenerbahce against Lazio in the Europa League quarterfinals (2013)
According to reports in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce will be offering Kuyt a new contract in January...Hurriyet Daily News and Fanatik among others are reporting that Fenerbahce player Dirk Kuyt's father and agent Dirk Kuyt Sr. informed Fenerbahce that the former Dutch international player wishes to renew his contract with Turkish champions Fenerbahce.
Kuyt's contract is set to expire in June 2015 and reports out of England were claiming that the Liverpool cult hero is attracting interest from Premier League outfits Sunderland and Southampton, with the latter being coached by fellow Dutchman Ronald Koeman.
However with Fenerbahce offering a new deal, Kuyt seems poised to continue his career with Fenerbahce, at least until now.
Kuyt joined Fenerbahce in 2012 from Liverpool for only one million euros (his release clause at the time) and is being paid 2.5 million euros per season for his services with the club. He scored a total of 30 goals in 107 official matches (league, cup and European competitions) for Fenerbahce where he played a vital role in helping the team win the league, the Super Cup, the Turkish Cup and reach the Europa League semi finals in 2013.
