The Yellow Canaries conceded the first goal in the 5th minute though Guray Vural but went on full attack since then equalizing the score in the 41st minute through a well placed volley from Raul Meireles. Akhisar were able to clinch the lead again in the 89th minute of the match through Vaz Te through a counter-attack.
Fenerbahce were denied two clear penalties alongside a string of controversial decisions, all coming against Fenerbahce's favour by the inadequate referee Ozgur Yankaya.
