Having conceded 13 goals in 13 matches; an average of goal per game, Fenerbahce knew that a returning Egemen Korkmaz, who was out with a knee injury for nine months will be a great push for the team.
Since returning to the team, the 32-year old Turkish international centre-back, who previously played for Bursaspor, Trabzonspor and Besiktas proved his worth where he was able to lead Fenerbahce to four clean sheets in four matches. In three of those matches Egemen paired with Bruno Alves in the back while in one of them he paired with Bekir Irtegun.
