Fenerbahce signed former Fenerbahce footballer and assistant coach Ismail Kartal as their new head coach...
The 53-year old manager was Fenerbahce's assistant coach for four years under both Aykut Kocaman and Ersun Yanal; he also coached several Turkish teams such as Sivasspor, Mersin IY, Hacettepe, Malatyaspor and others.
Upon his contract signing, Kartal said: "I have worked very hard and waited a long time for this chance," he said. "We had great success with Aykut [Kocaman] and Ersun [Yanal] in the past four years. I will concentrate on my work and the championship, we will be fully prepared for the league."
Kartal also played for Fenerbahce for a total of 10 years during which he also represented the Turkish national team on six occasions playing at the right-back position.
His contract details remain unannounced.
