Ersun Yanal Resigns!

After a disappointing preseason with Fenerbahce, league winning coach Ersun Yanal has decided to step down from his post!

During a press conference yesterday Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim spoke about how Fenerbahce will be following a new system to win the 20th league title and after a disappointing season that saw Fenerbahce lose to Sheffield United 2-1, to Besiktas 1-0 and to Chelsea 2-0; the Yellow Canaries coach Ersun Yanal decided to step down from his post as technical director and manager.

This news might come as a surprise for many since the 52 year old had a domestically successful campaign where he won the league title however his ability to win big matches has been questioned last season as Fenerbahce lost 5-0 on aggregate to Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League play-off round and lost the Super Cup to Galatasaray.

It will be interesting to see who replaces Yanal as the new Fenerbahce coach but rumors are already being spread around the Turkish media and the names being mentioned mostly is Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu, who previously coached Besiktas and Galatasaray in Turkey.
