The 29-year old Brazilian playmaker joined Atletico Madrid in January from VfL Wolfsburg and is set to become a free agent in the Summer and Fenerbahce officially announced to Istanbul's stock exchange market that they have started transfer negotiations with Diego who is available on a bosman transfer next month.
Besiktas were interested in the player as well but a representative from the team assured that transfer talks have ended after Diego's high wage demands.
