Fenerbahce CEO Aziz Yildirim says that club's supporters should motivate and support Emenike during his talk with press prior to the Bursaspor match. He also noted that Emenike also was taken into custody during match-fixing scandal.
Prior to the 27th Super League game against Bursaspor Fenerbahce CEO Aziz Yildirim had a talk with some of the Turkish journalists. The Yildirim meeting mainly discussed the situation of Emmanuel Emenike.
Yildirim states that the supporters should support, motivate and protect Emenike as he is very important to club and is going through difficult times. He adds that Emenike is capable of great results and is going through difficult times psychologically. Yildirim reminded the media that Emenike had stayed in custody for 4 days due to the match-fixing crisis.
Aziz Yildirim states that by criticising Emenike it also does damage to the whole team, as it morally affects the players and hence their performance. He also states that even if the club decides to sell him it would give damage to the club financially as he will be sold with value not representing his potential and also that club might lose good player.
Fenerbahce's CEO also stated that he has high respect to Emenike as he stayed in custody for four days just because he was transferred to Fenerbahce. He adds that it should be understood that it was a psychologically difficult time for him as he didn't speak Turkish and was only in custody for being transferred to Fenerbahce.
Emenike, Yildirim continues, did not take the Fenerbahce shirt off against Besiktas during the 25th week Super League game as a sign of disrespect. When he saw that there would be change, he thought it was him substituted not Kuyt.
Yildirim also mentions that he is sure that club head coach Ismail Kartal will carry on playing Emenike for rest of the season as he already did against Caykur Rizespor game and cup game against Mersin Idman Yurdu. It is wrong for fans to show negative reaction to him as it affects whole team.
Yildirim reminded the media the time when Moussa Sow had missed three great chances in one of the games. He states that at this time fans has decided to support Sow and to that response Sow had recovered psychologically in two weeks time. He encourages fans to have same reaction to the Emenike on those weeks.
