Credible Turkish media outlets such as Milliyet and Europsport are suggesting that Fenerbahce have reached an agreement worth 8 million euros with German giants Schalke in order to secure the services of Boateng.
The Ghanaian international footballer is being pipped as a replacement for the departing Dirk Kuyt as he can play in all midfield positions as well as a supporting striker.
Kevin-Prince Boateng is known for his strength and high work-rate and he has scored seven goals in 54 matches for Schalke since joining in 2013 from Milan.
He is the brother of German international defender Jerome Boateng.
