According to reports in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce are interested in hiring Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu next season...
The 69-year old who has been coaching Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk since 2004 has been linked with Fenerbahce numerous times over the last few years; but with the current situation in Ukraine his departure from the club seems imminent.
According to several Turkish media outlets, Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim will be replacing current coach Ismail Kartal, even if the Yellow Canaries win the league in the aim to build a team capable of success in Europe.
Ajansspor claimed that Fenerbahce have already contacted Lucescu and opened talks regarding a move to Turkey in the Summer.
Lucescu previously coached in Turkey where he won the Turkish league twice (with Besiktas and Galatasaray) and the UEFA Super Cup (with Galatasaray) in the span of only four years.
