A series of great saves from veteran goalie Hakan Arikan, referee mistakes and an all defensive take on the match secured Trabzonspor one point from their match against Turkish champions Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce had twelve shots out of 32 on target while Trabzonspor, who often attacked on the counter attack had three out of four and the Black Sea Storm picked seven yellow cards in the process while Fenerbahce picked three. However after the match Caner Erkin was handed a red card for an alteration with the referee.

Fenerbahce's strikers Moussa Sow and Emenike were continously denied the chance to score as former Turkish international goalkeeper came to Trabzonspor's rescue throughout the match; additionally Brazilian playmaker Diego Ribas is still impressing as he worked his magic with fellow Fenerbahce player Alper Potuk and Diego complained for the referee for not awarding him a rather obvious penalty in the 27th minute.
