Fenerbahce went on attack early on in the match and were able to secure a 1-0 lead as early as the 15th minute as Dirk Kuyt scored from outside the penalty box after Diego set up the ball for him.
It was the former international Dutchman who capitalized again as he scored in the 65th minute through a well-built attack by in-form right-back Gokhan Gonul. The Turkish international has been on superb form as of late and Egemen Korkmaz's return in the back surely is giving Gonul more liberty in going forward.
Just before the final whistle Brazilian playmaker gave his second assist of the night as he passed the ball inside the penalty area to Caner Erkin, who went on to secure Fenerbahce a 3-0 win.
