Fenerbahce officially announced the release of Joseph Yobo and Cristian Baroni...
Due to the newly introduced foreign player rule that states clubs can only have 8 foreigners in their team and after not receiving any transfer bids for the players; Fenerbahce decided to part ways with Brazilian defensive-midfielder Cristian Baroni and Nigerian international defender and national team captain Joseph Yobo.
Baroni joined Fenerbahce in the summer of 2009 and played and both he and Yobo played a major part in winning Fenerbahce the 2010-11 league and two domestic cups and reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League, all under coach Aykut Kocaman.
Now rumors are suggesting that Baroni might be on his way to Besiktas while Yobo is on Trabzonspor's radar after Liverpool defender Kolo Toure declined moving to them.
We wish both Yobo and Baroni all the best in their future endeavors.
