Fenerbahce had the chance to clinch their 19th Super League title tonight if they were to bag all 3 points at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium...however now the Yellow-Canaries will have to wait till next weeks clash with Caykur Rizespor at the Sukru Saracoglu to finally bring the 2013/14 season to a close.
Fenerbahce dominated the beginning of the game and started off with the perfect attitude as Moussa Sow gave Fener the lead in the 24th minute by stylishly slotting the ball to the left of Tolga Zengin. Caner Erkin had a sensational effort from a free-kick stopped by Tolga at the half-hour mark; nearing the end of the first-half the tempo of the game rose exponentially as both sides attacked aggressively which saw Ramon Motta turn in the rebound after Veli Kavlak struck the woodwork in the 44th minute.
Besiktas controlled much of the second-half looking to further move away from Galatasaray and clinch certain Champions League football next season, however the Black-Eagles couldn't find the winning goal. Fener on the other hand had a massive opportunity to win the game and league with Emenike and Kuyt coming close in stoppage time (90+1)
Fenerbahce now maintain there massive 12-point lead advantage at the top of the table, and a win or a draw next week will certainly crown Fenerbahce as this season's Champions.
